Event FAQ

What is a hybrid conference?

In 2021 we will be offering you the flexibility to choose between attending the conference venue which is the ACC in Liverpool or joining the event virtually through our online events platform. All the talks will be live streamed to virtual delegates through the platform with recordings available for you to watch for up to three months following the event.

How will COVID-19 restrictions impact the event?

We are closely following the UK government guidance on mass gatherings. We are planning for a hybrid conference in the hopes of guidance allowing us to run the face-to-face element by the time the conference is due to take place. However if circumstances change and it is no longer feasible to run a face to face element then the conference will be converted to fully virtual.

If the physical conference cannot go ahead, what will happen to my conference booking?

If for whatever reason the conference can no longer run as a hybrid event and is pivoted to fully virtual, those booked on the physical element of the conference will be transferred to a fully virtual registration and refunded the difference.

When will Annual Congress 2021 be taking place?

Annual Congress  will be taking place on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 September 2021. The online platform will open before the conference meaning you can access the exhibition, network with colleagues and view educational content before the live broadcast starts.

What happens if I can no longer attend the physical part of the conference?

With the current uncertainties around travel restrictions due to the pandemic, we understand that delegates plans may change and some may not be able to travel to our conference. We will be as flexible as possible to allow delegates to switch registration types between physical and virtual attendance before the conference.

Will there be any social events?

We are exploring the option to run some social events alongside Annual Congress 2021. If restrictions allow, we will post further details on the website shortly.

What is included in my registration fee for a physical conference?

Your booking for the physical conference will include access to the venue on your chosen day/s to watch the scientific content live and visit the industry exhibition, catering and refreshments will also be provided. You will also have full access to the virtual platform allowing you to watch live and recordings of the talks for both days, view poster abstracts and network with other delegates.

What restrictions will be in place at the venue?

We will be running the event in line with current guidance at the time. You will receive full information on this ahead of the conference but please be aware that local and national restrictions outside the control of the events team may change at short notice.

What is included in my registration fee for the virtual conference?

By registering for the conference you will gain access to all of our scientific content, keynotes, exhibitor pages, posters and networking opportunities. Priority access to the recordings of the content will be available for you to view after the conference for all conference attendees.

Will there be an exhibition?

There will be both physical exhibition stands at the venue as well as virtual booths on the conference platform. Symposia and networking opportunities with exhibitors will be available whether you are attending in person or virtually.  Unlike a traditional conference, this year our exhibition will open before the main event starts and after the close of the conference. There will be dedicated times in the programme on the live days to talk to industry.
