About our events

Our events

Find out about the seminars, webinars, core topics meetings, conferences and other educational events we offer.

Our educational seminars feature leading experts in anaesthesia, critical care and pain medicine presenting the latest information and thinking on a variety of key anaesthesia topics.

Seminars are designed to focus on a specific field of interest within anaesthesia and help to build on specialist interests. They offer an intimate learning environment with a maximum of 50 delegates at each. Keeping the numbers low encourages delegate faculty interaction.

Our seminars are open to all grades of anaesthetists.

Most seminars are held at our headquarters at 21 Portland Place in central London. A small number of seminars are held in larger venues, always in close proximity to our headquarters.

The seminars are timed so it's possible for almost all those attending (both speakers and audience) to travel to and from London on the day, without the need to stay overnight. Most seminars start around 10:30 and finish by 16:30.

Regional seminars

Due to demand some of our most popular seminars are also being run in locations across the UK. These include Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and Newport.

Prices vary depending on the seminar content. View all of our upcoming seminars.

Watch and learn from your own home with our informative webinars. You have the freedom to join in live, or watch the recorded versions at a later date.

At each webinar three experts each speak for 45 minutes about their specialist subjects. You'll then get the chance to ask questions if you're watching live. The whole event lasts just over two hours.

Webinar costs

Prices for all webinars are £25 for trainees, £40 for members and £80 for non-members.

CPD accreditation and our events

In keeping with the GMC condition that CPD activity doesn’t need a set number of 'points' or 'credits', the Association doesn't issue these for its educational activities.

However, for those members who wish to record their CPD in terms of points or credits it's normal practice to give one credit or point for each hour of education provided.

CEPD certificates will be available to download from the 'My account' section of the website immediately after the meeting. If you are unable to access these online please contact the Events team who will be able to help.

Coding of the programmes

We try to ensure that all our programmes have both GMC domains and matrix codes. Please see below for the full list of GMC domains:

  1. Domain 1: Knowledge, skills & performance
  2. Domain 2: Safety & quality
  3. Domain 3: Communication, partnership & teamwork
  4. Domain 4: Maintaining trust
