We welcome you to submit your abstract to Annual Congress 2026. Showcase your work, share your expertise, and gain recognition at one of the leading conferences in anaesthesia.

The deadline for abstract submission is 23:59 on Wednesday 6 May 2026.

Abstract categories

We welcome abstracts from all grades of anaesthetists and medical students and have a specific category for SAS doctors to submit their audits. We welcome abstracts in any of the following categories:

  • Audit and Quality Improvement (QI)
  • SAS audit prize
  • Case reports
  • Education and training
  • Original research
  • Surveys

Roddie McNicol Patient Safety prize

Abstracts are also welcomed to the Roddie McNicol Patient Safety prize to showcase examples of improved safety in anaesthesia. The prize is open to members of the Association. The project could involve an individual, department, medical students or allied health care professionals, provided the project lead is a member of the Association.

Green Star Award

All abstracts submitted to the conference will be considered for the Green Star Award. Abstracts deemed to have demonstrated a consideration of sustainability within their projects will be shortlisted for the award, with the best being invited to present their work at the conference.

If your abstract is accepted an author or co-author must register and attend the conference in person as a condition of acceptance.
