Medical students, foundation year trainees, trainee anaesthetists (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3) or locally employed anaesthetic doctors are invited to submit a 500-word synopsis of a presentation on the topic of How would you change anaesthetic training for the future? This is the perfect opportunity to share your views with your peers, showcase your presenting skills, develop your portfolio and win cash prizes.

Applications must be submitted by medical students, foundation year trainees, trainee anaesthetists (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3) or locally employed anaesthetic doctors working or studying in Great Britain or Ireland. Applications must be received ahead of the published deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Submission deadline was 23:59 on Wednesday 20 March 2024.

Applications will be blind reviewed by members of the Trainee Committee. Top scoring submitters will be invited to give a presentation, with or without slides, at our Trainee Conference 2024 in Glasgow between 27-28 June 2024. The audience will vote on their preferred presentation based on the quality and engagement of the speaker during the event. Cash prizes will be awarded to top scoring oral presentations based on the audience vote.

Selected submitters, not shortlisted for oral presentation, may be invited to display a poster during the meeting based on the submitted application (subject to booking to physically attending the meeting).

All accepted presenters or poster submitters will receive a certificate confirming acceptance for their portfolio.

Terms and conditions

  • Applications must be submitted by a medical student, trainee anaesthetist or locally employed doctor working or studying in Great Britain or Ireland
  • Only one author is permitted per application
  • Only one presenter is permitted per presentation
  • If accepted, the presenting author must book and physically attend the Trainee Conference 2024
  • Speakers must adhere to the Event Code of Conduct
