The Association of Anaesthetists’ Honours and Awards

Thursday 26 January 2023, 18:00-19:30

21 Portland Place and Zoom

The Association of Anaesthetists have given out various honours and awards to British and Irish anaesthetists since the Association’s foundation in 1932. Discover their significance and hear from Dr Ian Roberts, a recent recipient of the Pask award, given to those who have ‘rendered distinguished service, either with gallantry in the performance of their clinical duties, in a single meritorious act, or consistently and faithfully over a long period’.

Dr Ian Roberts will talk about his role as FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) medical representative, and his heroic actions at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix in rescuing Romain Grosjean. Dr Roberts was subsequently nominated for the Pask award, and he will discuss what the award means to him professionally and personally.
