John Snow Medal for Patient Safety 

Formerly the John Snow Silver Medal until 2025, the John Snow Medal for Patient Safety is named after Dr John Snow to honour his pioneering contributions to anaesthesia and patient safety. This medal is awarded in recognition of the significant achievements of an individual who has improved or is improving patient safety.

This medal is awarded to anaesthetists who are actively making a significant impact to patient safety by implementing initiatives that greatly improve patient care and safety in the field of anaesthesia at a regional, national or international level. 

Successful recipients will receive the John Snow Medal for Patient Safety.


Eligibility: Can be awarded to Association members 

Nomination: By nomination from an Association or non-Association member.

The deadline for nominations is 23:59 on Wednesday 13 August 2025. Awards will be presented at the Winter Scientific Meeting in London in January 2026.
