About this seminar
This seminar is aimed primarily at experienced trainee and non-trainee anaesthetists, but would suit anyone who has ever puzzled over the differences between the High Court, County Court, Crown Court and Centre Court; between case law, common law, criminal law and civil law; between Acts, acts and statutes; and between barristers, solicitors, judges, and GMC assessors.

Hoping to shed some light is a faculty consisting of anaesthetists experienced in such matters and practising lawyers, who will cover (i) how the law works and what it all means; (ii) how adverse outcomes might lead to complaints, lawsuits and worse, and (iii) how anaesthetists might be unfortunate enough to encounter the process, and how they might keep themselves out of trouble.

To include sessions on: Courts, laws and important Acts Assault, battery, negligence, manslaughter and murder Complaints, Trust legal departments, defence organisations, CNST and NHS Resolution and inspectors Anatomy (and aftermath) of a case.
