Nominations now open to join the Association's Trainee Committee

The deadline for self nomination to stand for election to the Association's Trainee Committee is 17:00 on Tuesday 2 April 2024.

There are two vacancies this year on the committee, and we would like to encourage all trainee members who would like to have an impact on anaesthetic training and trainee wellbeing at a national level to consider standing for election.

This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about shaping the future of their profession. By actively participating in this committee, you not only contribute to advocacy and representation but also gain invaluable skills and connections that will benefit you throughout your career.

The Association is committed to ensure a breadth of representation, and we are keen to encourage applicants from a diverse background of experience, training, and life. If you feel that you could be the voice of an underrepresented group, please consider applying.

What does being a Trainee Committee member involve?

The Trainee Committee have three formal meetings a year, as well as attending the Trainee Conference as faculty members. Committee meetings are held as an all-day meeting between 10:30 – 16:00, either as a physical meeting at 21 Portland Place, London or as a virtual meeting. Video conference facilities will be available for all meetings.

The committee represents the views of and issues affecting trainees, as well as providing a focus for the interests of trainee members of the Association. The committee works in many areas, such as education, workforce planning, safety and supervision, diversity and the environment. Our aim is to improve anaesthetic training, promote best practice, and champion the importance of workplace wellbeing.
