Association’s response to the NHS Pension Scheme amendment consultation

We are disappointed to see that the points raised by the Association in our response to the consultation on amendments to the NHS Pension Scheme have not been recognised.
While the changes suggested by the Government may help to standardise retire and return, not addressing the issue of the annual allowance or the lifetime allowance means the impact of these changes will be limited. Large numbers of clinicians will still feel their only option is to take early retirement to avoid disproportionally large tax bills – making the current workforce crisis even worse.
