What does the Association Trainee Committee mean to you?

The opportunity to give trainees a voice on a national platform whilst working with and learning from inspiring anaesthetists from across Great Britain and Ireland.

What has most surprised you since joining the Trainee Committee?

The brilliant support provided by the Association to help turn ideas into reality and deliver large scale events and educational sessions.

What would you like to achieve in your time on the Trainee Committee?

To make a significant impact on the experiences of fellow trainees, ensure equal access for all and continue the great work the trainee committee has done previously in helping drive the specialty forward.

Why did you decide to become an anaesthetist/doctor

As a medical student and foundation doctor, I was always slightly in awe of the cape wearing doctors that would arrive at emergencies looking completely unphased and seemingly fix everything with a wave of a syringe. I decided I wanted to see what it was all about!

What do you like most about your job?

The opportunity to work with highly skilled teams to help patients who are often at their most vulnerable. Also, the gadgets, numbers, and ability to influence physiology almost instantly with a single syringe.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I am a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and spend a lot of my spare time training or teaching (when I’m not injured or plotting ways I can get a dog whilst living in London).
