Meet the Trainee Committee - Ben Evans

Meet Ben Evans. Ben works in CT3 anaesthetics at James Cook University hospital. He is an elected trainee member in the Trainee Committee. Ben’s clinical interests are TIVA, head and neck.


What does the Association Trainee Committee mean to you?

The association to me is a proactive group of individuals advocating for constant improvement to the wellbeing and training of doctors in anaesthesia training.

 

What has most surprised you since joining the trainee committee?

The involvement that Trainee Committee members have with the rest of the association inputs into almost all aspects of the organisation.

 

What would you like to achieve in your time on the trainee committee?

To try and make a positive impact into the training / conditions of trainee anaesthetists throughout the UK.

 

Why did you decide to become an anaesthetist / doctor?

Anaesthetist - enjoy aspects of 1-1 care and the mix of procedures and clinical contact.

 

What do you like most about your job?

The variety - obstetrics, head & neck, PACU - every day is different

 

What do you like to do in your free time?

Walking, Squash, Hockey
