What is a Implementing hypnotic communication in anaesthesia course

The course is designed to integrate new learning with existing clinical expertise. Taught by experienced practitioners in anaesthesia and clinical hypnosis, the content is tailored specifically for anaesthetic practice. The blend of real-world NHS experience and clinical examples ensures relevance and applicability. The course will utilize a combination of synchronous (live teaching) and asynchronous (online modules) learning formats, accommodating diverse learning styles and clinical schedules.

This course specifically aims to enhance clinical practice for those in anaesthetics. The
underpinning philosophy of the course will support the participant to blend together new learning with their existing clinical knowledge and experience. Participants will benefit from a teaching team who have experience in clinical hypnosis in anaesthesia, ensuring that taught content remains fluid and relevant.

About this course

Discover the transformative potential of this dynamic two-day course presented by the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis (BSCAH). The words we choose, and how we deploy them have power - with the potential to be positive or negative in their impact.

Tailored specifically to you as an anaesthetic professional, this course introduces practical hypnotic communication and techniques designed to reduce patient anxiety, adjunct pain management, and build strong rapport in ALL clinical settings, including sub-speciality variations for paediatrics, obstetrics and critical care.

Delivered by experienced NHS clinicians with diverse anaesthetic backgrounds, you’ll explore conversational hypnosis, structured hypnotic language, advanced non-verbal communication and avoiding nocebo - being guided to integrate these into the acute settings where you individually work.

Combining a mix of live demonstrations, practical exercises, and small group sessions, you’ll gain skills and scripts that can be utilised immediately to enhance your clinical work, patient outcomes and quality experience.

Whether looking to deepen your skills or explore hypnosis for the first time, this course is your gateway to impactful change. Take this opportunity to elevate your practice, contribute to empathetic healthcare experiences and increase confidence in harnessing the power of language in day to day clinical practice.

Intended audience

The course is perfect for those that have attended previous medical hypnosis seminars, as this course will give them 2 full days of practical experience. It is also great for any anaesthetists that has never been on a seminar before as they will get relevant theory and hands on practise.
