What is a seminar
The Association is the UK’s leading provider of postgraduate education for all pathways into Anaesthesia. The Association’s seminar programme features leading experts in anaesthesia, critical care and pain medicine presenting the latest information and thinking on a variety of key anaesthesia topics. Our seminars are designed to focus on a specific field of interest within anaesthesia and help to build on specialist interests. They offer an intimate learning environment, with a maximum of 45 delegates (in-person) attending each. Keeping the numbers low encourages delegate and faculty interaction.
About this seminar
This seminar will be run as a hybrid event, allowing delegates to join online as well as in-person at our 21 Portland Place venue. Online delegates will join via zoom and will be sent a link in the run up to the seminar.
This seminar is suitable for all anaesthetists, from those covering occasional trauma lists to those with a specialist interest in hip fracture care. The faculty are national and international experts and authors of national guidance and will present sessions ranging from practical "how to" guides for anaesthetising people with hip fractures to debates on controversies, updates on the latest research and "hot topics".
Intended audience
Aimed at anaesthetists with an interest in hip fracture care. Consultant anaesthetists, trainee anaesthetists (ST3+), SAS anaesthetists.

- Surgical options and potential controversies surrounding hip fracture surgery
- A "how to" guide for giving the best anaesthetic for hip fracture and trauma surgery
- A personal insight into delirium from a patient and colleague
- Updates on the latest guidance and research in hip fracture care to inform evidence based changes in practice
