NCEPOD report reviews the care provided to patients with pulmonary embolism
NCEPOD have released a new report today – ‘Know the Score’ – a review of the care provided to patients with pulmonary embolism who either presented to hospital or who developed it whilst as an inpatient for another condition.
Despite advances in the ability to prevent, diagnose and treat
acute pulmonary embolism (PE) it remains an important
cause of morbidity and mortality. Its association with air
travel, hospitalisation, active cancer, pregnancy and some
chronic conditions is well recognised and involves all age
groups, including the young.
You can download the full report, summaries and additional resources by visiting the NCEPOD website.
