About this webinar recording

This is a joint webinar between the MPS and the Association of Anaesthetists.

Medical expert opinion is crucial in coronial, criminal and regulatory cases as well as in clinical negligence claims. It can determine the course of an investigation, and the standard doctors are held to. Given the importance of expert work, it is concerning that many bodies (including courts and regulators) report difficulties in finding appropriately qualified individuals to undertake it. This webinar will explore the role of an expert, what being an expert entails and why it is important for more doctors to take up this work. To finish there will be significant time for Q&A with the speakers.

Organiser and Chair -  Dr Mike Nathanson (Immediate Past President, Association of Anaesthetists)

What is an expert? Or who can be an expert? - Dr Katie Grant (MPS)
