The Royal College of Anaesthetists, Association of Anaesthetists and Difficult Airway Society have developed this statement that emphasises the key elements of rapid sequence induction and intubation which is available here.
It is, in part, a response to recent prevention of future deaths reports. The authors acknowledge there are gaps in evidence and therefore uncertainty. Methods and key references are available here. An Association consensus statement on rapid sequence induction and intubation in adult patients will be published in due course.
