Resident Doctors Conference 2026 abstract submission

We are excited to open a ‘late-breaking’ abstract submission round for our Resident Doctors Conference 2026, providing more colleagues with the opportunity to showcase their work.

Late-breaking abstracts

The deadline for submitting abstracts to the late-breaking abstract round will be 23:59 on Wednesday 25 March 2026.

Submit your late-breaking abstract now

Late-breaking abstracts will not be published, but authors can display an ePoster at the conference. While these abstracts are not eligible for awards, all submitters will have the chance to present their work in an informal ePoster discussion session. Abstracts that were rejected in the main submission round cannot be resubmitted as late-breaking abstracts.

Medical students and resident doctors are invited to submit an abstract in the following categories:

  • Audit and quality improvement (QI)
  • Case reports
  • Education and training
  • Original research
  • Surveys

If accepted, you will receive an evidence letter of acceptance, ePoster display or presentation to enhance your portfolio.

Main abstract submission round

The deadline for submitting an abstract to the main round of the Resident Doctors Conference 2026 was Wednesday 28 January 2026. All accepted abstracts in the main round will be published and will be eligible for prizes in the various oral and ePoster presentation prize categories.

View list of submissions under review in the main abstract submission round. Submitters will be informed of the outcome of their submission around Thursday 12 March 2026.

If your abstract is accepted to the conference, it is a condition of acceptance that a resident or medical student author or co-author registers and physically attends the conference. Successful submissions will be categorised by the training grade of the presenting author (medical students, Foundation Year, Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 or international equivalent).
