About this seminar
There has been a revolution in the use of ultrasound in the critical care in the last decade. A rapid growth in potential applications coupled with a reduction in cost and size of machines has meant that this modality has the potential to enhance management of a large number of patients.
Formal training programmes and competencies have been developed to aid the acquisition of the necessary skills. This seminar will prepare you for such programmes. This seminar will host a series of lectures and live demonstrations, followed by workshops covering all aspects of the use of ultrasound in ICU. It will give you a good introduction to develop your skills, help you plan to use ultrasound, enhance your clinical skills, and improve the quality and safety of your practice.
Areas covered include central and peripheral venous and arterial access, thoracic and cardiac ultrasound (including an introduction to TOE) and the extended role of ultrasound in trauma and general ICU.
