IRC International Fellowship 2023

IRC International Fellowship

The Association is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic trainee anaesthetist with a strong interest in Global Health to become the next Association International Fellow. The appointment will be for up to 12-months starting from February 2023.

This role is voluntary and will not be remunerated; reasonable expenses will be paid, under the Association’s expenses policy, to cover travel costs to attend International Relations Committee (IRC) meetings, SAFE Steering Group meetings and attend the Trainee Conference to present on the international work of the Association and IRC funding partners Difficult Airway Society (DAS), Paediatric Intensive Care Society (PICS), Regional Anaesthesia-UK (RA-UK), Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia (SIVA) and World Anaesthesia Society (WAS).

The main function of the international fellowship will be to provide knowledge and support to the delivery of the Association of Anaesthetists international work as a co-opted member or the IRC and SAFE Steering Group. The fellowship will be of educational benefit to all parties and will help assess the impact of the international work for the annual report, plus the evaluation of the grant awarding process.

It is anticipated that this exposure and experience will contribute to the wider training of the individual within Global Health to enhance their own experience within the NHS, and contribute to the training of others in relation to and Global Health.
