This series of webinars are targeted towards any current Specialty Doctor Anaesthetists looking to see how they can develop within a SAS career, and any medical managers looking to see how they might maximise the potential of their SAS team members. They may also be useful to anyone considering becoming a SAS doctor and wondering about the routes such a career might take, and the destinations they might lead to.
This is the third webinar in this series, covering progression to becoming a Specialist Anaesthetist. It will provide insights into the history of the role, the eligibility requirements of the new senior SAS contract, and how you might demonstrate that you meet them, in order to progress.

This talk will feature insights into the history of how the Specialist contract came to exist, and anecdotes relating to negotiating a new senior SAS role, after the closure of the Associate Specialist role in 2008.

This talk will cover current thinking on levels of supervision, including the national standard which defines adequate supervision. It will also cover asking for help as an autonomous doctor.
