Anaesthesia and Assessment: The Diploma in Anaesthetics and Beyond

Tuesday 19 July, 18:00 - 19:30, Hybrid: 21 Portland Place and Zoom

Audience: Adult

The first recorded use of anaesthesia was in 1846; despite this there was no formal qualification in anaesthesia until the introduction of the Diploma in Anaesthetics in 1935. This talk will explore the early days of anaesthesia and the Association’s role in the development of the DA.

Dr Robert Feneck, a retired Consultant Anaesthetist at St Thomas’ Hospital, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the department of Medical Education at Kings College London will give this presentation.
