Venue and travel
The venue for this meeting is St. James' Park the home of Newcastle United Football Club. With a city centre location, St. James’ Park is one of the most accessible and well-connected football grounds in the UK.
The stadium is located close to the junction of Gallowgate, St. James’ Boulevard and Barrack Road, just a ten-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station and around five minutes from Monument Metro Station and the city’s major bus stations. Simply follow the pedestrian signs located throughout the city centre. Plus the North East is a busy hub for NHS hospitals and schools of anaesthesia.

By road
The stadium is located close to the junction of Gallowgate, St. James’ Boulevard and Barrack Road.
CAR PARKING
Free, on site car parking is available for conference delegates on a first come, first served basis. The car parking areas are accessed from Barrack Road.
At the traffic lights, turn into the ground and drive straightforward, past a multi-deck car park on your left. You will then see a sign for “Conference & Banqueting Car Parking”.
Follow the arrow down the road, as it curves to the left and it will lead you into a multi-storey car park. Guests are free to park on Level One. Levels Two and above are privately owned so parking is not permitted.
Should the unlikely event of level one of the multi-storey being full, guests are asked to use the pay and display multi-deck car park as previously mentioned. There is a cost of
70p per hour here.
Please note, all other parking spaces in the ground, other than those mentioned above on level one of the multi-storey, are owned by the City Council and you require either a
permit or a ticket to park there.
By rail
Situated on the East Coast Mainline, Newcastle Central Station is a principle stop for services between London and Edinburgh/Glasgow. In addition to regional services, it also offers direct cross-country routes to and from Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool Birmingham and Bristol.
The station is a ten-minute walk from St. James’ Park, walk west along Neville Street (A186) and turn right onto St. James’ Boulevard. The stadium is located at the top of the road and will become visible as you reach the junction with Bath Lane/Wellington Street.

By air
Newcastle International Airport is situated just 5 miles away from the city centre, the perfect touch down for tourists who travel to the city.
Newcastle upon Tyne is served by the Tyne & Wear Metro system; a light rail network with frequent services between Newcastle Airport, Newcastle city centre, the coast, and major transport interchanges and destinations south to Wearside.
We recommend St. James’ Metro station for local coastal destinations, while Monument station – a five-minute walk away – is served by both yellow and green line routes towards Newcastle International Airport, South Shields and the coast.
