About this seminar
Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) poses numerous challenges for anaesthetists. Where IONM for surgery is used, the role of the anaesthetist is not only to provide optimal anaesthesia but also to facilitate IONM and to conduct a continuous interaction with members of neuromonitoring team. It is important for an anaesthetist to understand the rationale behind the monitoring and the basis of its utility. This also enables a close working relationship with the monitoring team and the surgeon and is key to a successful and an improved outcome.
