Interested in organising a seminar?

We're looking for new seminar material, both lecture and workshop based.

The Association of Anaesthetists at 21 Portland Place is fortunate to be in a particularly historic part of London.

On World Anaesthesia Day, join us on a walking tour of the significant locations linked to the history of anaesthesia. Led by Association of Anaesthetist heritage volunteer and history of medicine enthusiast Dr Rob Feneck, the tour will start at Portland Place and pass along streets and neighbourhoods that teem with history and monuments to anaesthesia of truly historic importance. You’ll be introduced to three of the most important figures in anaesthesia and surgery, Joseph Lister, John Snow and Joseph Clover and visit locations linked to them and the history of anaesthesia.

The tour will start and end at the Association of Anaesthetists home at 21 Portland Place. There will be an opportunity to visit the museum after the tour and refresh with a tea/coffee and biscuits.
