In this webinar, the results from the PREVENTT (A randomised, double-blind, controlled trial of preoperative 1 intravenous iron to treat anaemia before major abdominal surgery - funded by the National Institute for Health Research) trial will be presented and discussed by the authors. This trial included nearly 500 participants with anaemia who were randomly allocated to receive 1000mg of iron or saline intravenously 10-42 days before major surgery in 1 of 46 hospitals around the UK.
This is the first presentation worldwide and will be your chance to hear what the outcomes were and what they mean for patients with anaemia undergoing surgery. You will be able to quiz the authors of this groundbreaking trial during the webinar.
